We recommend that you keep your dog in ideal body condition and not allow your dog to become overweight. The exact amount of food your dog requires will need to be adjusted according to age, activity and environment. But a good place to start is with these guidelines for an average, active, adult dog fed once daily.
Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily.
Please allow 7-10 days to ease the transition from your dog’s current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you’re feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.
The runs stopped soon thereafter, and when I stopped the supplement she went right back to having loose stools. When I discovered that the vet had charged me roughly 4 times what it actually cost here I was relieved that I would be able to afford it in the long run.
If your dog has issues with soft or runny poop I would totally recommend giving this a try.
I've been using FortiFlora for my dog for a few months now, and it has made a noticeable difference in his overall health. He used to have frequent digestive issues, but since starting FortiFlora, his stomach has been much more settled, and his stool quality has improved significantly. He also seems to have more energy and a shinier coat, which I attribute to the improved gut health.
The powder is easy to mix with his food, and he doesn't seem to notice the difference in taste, which is great because he's usually picky. I've tried other probiotics in the past, but FortiFlora has been the most effective by far.
One downside is the price—it’s a bit on the expensive side, but considering the positive changes in my dog's health, I think it’s worth it. If your pet has digestive issues or you're just looking to boost their gut health, I highly recommend giving FortiFlora a try.
It was packaged in too
big a box.
I did try to give some to my Boston Terrier to try and make feeding time easier, but he got super itchy and his hair started thinning. I think he just may have issues with chicken, not the food itself.
In the video, the kibble for the review is in the bowl with blueberries and other toppers I add.
I was iffy at first since I read before somewhere else that purines had a lot of bad additives, but from our dogs reactions; they have more energy and are more willing to eat when it’s time.
Would totally recommend this brand! We’ve tried most of the flavours already and their favourite is the chicken or salmon!!! 👌
My babies made 9 beautiful healthy golden pups and I also got them started on the Purim’s puppy food as well!
CONTENT=2 STARS
This review is about the content of this particular bag which I rate at 2 STARS (🌟 🌟).
Again, this is not a complaint about the quality as Purina Pro Plan is highly recommended by many veterinarians...And my dogs love it.
I opened the bag, got a cup of serving, and noticed a lot of crumbs like you would see at the bottom of the bag. I figured the bag was turned upside-down so it will go away. I put the dog food in a sealed plastic container. Two days later, I was finding more and more crumbs. I shook the container trying to sort the large bits to the top but that did not help because getting a scoop gave me just as much crumbs as it did bits o' food.
This must be the bottom of the lot.
I received a refund from Amazon and replaced the bag with a different flavor of Purina Pro Plan. Getting ready to open it as the crumbs causes my bulldog to cough/gag (possibly due to the crumbs sticking to the bits)
Purina has a good reputation for quality products & I have never had to worry about a recall. My two chihuahuas will even eat it, although the kibble is large. (All three dogs are somewhat picky eaters.) I also usually mix this food with chicken broth or chicken bone broth, a small amount of shredded cooked chicken, and an expensive freeze-dried raw beef “topper” made by TruPet/TruDog called, “Fortify Me.” I’ve had them on this regimen for about 2-3 years.
The chihuahuas are 7 years old, and the boxer is 4. (Fortunately, he tolerates the little yappers pretty well considering his dominant nature. 😬)
But overall a normal Healthy dog should thrive on this Pro Plan
We are disappointed with the UPS delivery. The driver just dropped it on our front lawn.
Anyone could have stolen it. BAD UPS
I switched to Salmon Sensitive skin... Then back to Science diet after noticing some skin rashes.
May be Fukashima radiated Salmon... IDK
But went with the brand that served me well for the past 4yrs.
The dogs love this food. It has real pieces of chicken mixed in and they all have developed a unique way to eat it - they take a mouthful at a time and drop it on the floor. They then separate the real chicken pieces from the rest and eat those first. After the real chicken is gone, then they clean up the mess from the floor. Gotta get the good stuff first, I guess. It's sort of comical to watch.
The Amazon Prime price on this dog food is on par with buying it at a brick-and-mortar pet store locally, so it's not a super-deal in that regard. What it does have going for it, though, is the advantage of being delivered right to our door step. Since my wife and I both work, not needing to take time out to go to shopping for this food makes this deal very compelling.
