The recommended feeding amounts indicated are based upon the average nutritional needs of an adult dog with normal activity. Factors, such as a dog’s metabolism, breed size, activity level, age and whether the dog is spayed or neutered, will affect the amount of Purina ONE needed to maintain an ideal body condition. If you find that your dog is losing weight or becomes overweight when fed these amounts, please adjust accordingly. To help your dog maintain an ideal body condition, monitor your dog’s weight on a regular basis, making sure that his ribs are easily felt and the waist is visible when viewed from above.
Puppies: Start puppies on moistened Purina ONE as early as they will nibble at solid foods, generally 3-4 weeks of age. Feed pups (to six months of age) all of the moistened or dry Purina ONE they will consume at intervals throughout the day. If water is added, use no more than one part warm (not hot) liquid to four parts Purina ONE, changing frequently to ensure freshness. If fed dry, this formula may be kept before pups at all times.
Reproduction: Purina ONE provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. Food consumption may vary during gestation, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female’s good body condition. Food intake may double or even quadruple during lactation.
Transition Instructions
Please allow 7 – 10 days to ease the transition from his current food and a little more Purina ONE until you’re feeding Purina ONE exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.

much over priced! Even with subscribe and save so I am most currently looking for a store bought alternative.
He eats it as fast as I can put it in his dish.
It's less expensive, more available, and the dogs tolerate it really well. We also watch closely for recalls, and this food seems to be a relatively safe choice.

Looks to be healthy because the wife said we had to switch to it because it doesn’t contain something. Because the other brand I had contained it so anyways we swapped food and the dogs still eat it so I guess they don’t mind the change either.
Price is good and it gets delivered to your door.

However, if Amazon continues to ship large parcels via USPS, I will cancel all of my subscriptions and purchase locally instead. The point of having items shipped is to have them delivered to your door. Going to the Post Office to pick up my dog food is ridiculous. Nothing against USPS , just inconvenient.
I did change his original food after many years to this one and he did not have any problem transitioning to this food.
It was recommended by our veterinarian!
This time I had a problem with the delivery. The Post Office in town indicated on the Amazon tracking app that our mailbox was full at 9:55 am. What?? We don't even get our mail delivered until late afternoon! They left a slip in our mailbox that stated it was being held at the post office because it was HEAVY.
What the heck?!? It has been delivered every other time to my door. My husband had to go down to the post office to pick it up. What if we weren't able to physically do that??
Very disappointed with the lack of delivery.
Update 8/19/22: Still have this on monthly subscription.
I was unable to get the size of the regular Dog Chow that I wanted, but it was offered in that size with this Purina One Smart Blend, so I figured it would be worth a try!
My dogs were hesitant at first when I offered it to them, probably because it wasn't their "norm"...so I plan on using it at least one more time to be able to judge which one my dogs prefer
Cheaper than getting the same product at the grocer's.
Box COULD be more compact (you could fit 3 packs of dogfood in the one normally used) but that's more of a gripe for the drivers than the consumer.

All my bags have been relatively perfect, with no torn pieces before I get a chance to open it, any sign of tampering that I can find on them, or cosmetic damages. My dogs have never had an upset stomach or bad reaction to this food since I began feeding it, either, excluding my GSD/Mal, and that's only because we recently discovered he's allergic. We're currently eliminating food in his diet and went for a different Purina One brand, while we'll continue to get this kind for the other dogs. My vet said the most common allergy is chicken, so before we go nuts testing things, we're giving the Healthy Weight one to my Mal (he's also my service dog, so he needs to remain in shape anyway) instead. All my other dogs always wolf meals down and get excited when it's time for breakfast or supper. I used to read reviews about people saying their dogs danced and spun excitedly for this food, and I was dubious. My own dogs have always been good eaters, but I think Purina One brings out a whole different level! lol They really do get extremely hyped up when they see me get their bowls ready.
I'm glad that I decided to take a chance on ordering this. I used to get my dog food from Walmart, where I'd pick up 50lb bags that seemed to disappear wayyyy too quickly, and I'd find myself having to get another bag too soon for my liking. With Purina One, I've found that somehow, it lasts surprisingly longer than those 50lb bags did, even though these are only 41lbs. I'm still feeding the same amount as before that is appropriate for their weight...but this lasts longer somehow. Getting their food from here is so much more convenient on several different fronts.
Here's to hoping that Purina One doesn't do a 180 or change their formula somehow, and Amazon keeps up this good streak of on-time deliveries and neatly packaged food!
have lots of energy run next to my ATV 2 miles a day 10 to 20 mph. The CK. and Rice is a little cheaper. My only problem is I was having it delivered by UPS and they brought it to my door. The USPS started to deliver it but said they couldn't bring it to my door to heavy {40 lb.) would leave it outside by garage which is unexceptable. Guess I'll have to buy some other kind.
