Transition Instructions
When introducing a pet to a new food, we recommend a gradual change over a 10 day period. Start by feeding 90% of their old food and 10% of Fancy Feast. Each day, increase their portion of Fancy Feast by 10%, while decreasing their old food until 100% of their meal consists of their new food.

The cost is very good and no matter what, ANY WET FOOD IS BETTER THAN ANY DRY FOOD. If you can’t afford to feed them better quality, just know that many cats live to very long ages on Friskies wet food alone. Brushing teeth weekly/fully raw meat diet is the only prevention for tooth decay in cats, kibble DOES NOT HELP TOOTH DECAY IN CATS because cats do not chew. Its like saying eating crackers for all your meals will help with tooth decay.

I add a bit of water to the pate and it thins it out for her and she's able to eat it easier. We give her half a can twice a day, once in the morning and once at night.
This case lasts us a long time. We love it. Our cat loves it. We love that it's primarily fish flavors as our cat prefers fish flavors.
But packaged in the itty-bitty cans is painful to the food budget.
Is it worth it? The cats think so, judging by their purrs of approval.
So if you want your pussy galore(s) to be happy, you can't go wrong.
Since Amazon notifies me of delivery I make sure to get these in STAT, so they don't sit in the heat and go bad.
Healthy? It’s the fast food of the cat world.
My cat inhales the Salmon Pate and Mariner's Catch Pate. She eats the other two flavors but with slightly less enthusiasm. The latter 2 include liver (see ingredients list) which she doesn't like. The salmon pate is her absolute favorite.
CONDITION/DAMAGE:
A careful check of the cans upon receipt showed one can that was dented despite being in the box. Although the dented can looked accessible, gentle pressure applied to the lid caused liquid to ooze out indicating it was unsafe to use. The other 39 cans were fine. This was my 3rd large case of Friskies canned cat food from Amazon and the 1st with any damage. Still, based on other reviews, I think it prudent to ALWAYS INSPECT ALL CANS upon receipt.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Bottom line, this product is an absolute hit with Onyx who gobbles it up and often begs for more. I will definitely buy again and can recommend to others.
I say its cheaper to buy by the 40 can case, so I can keep their little fluffy butts in pate heaven. Win/win situation! Happy cats, happy human!
CARRAGEENAN is known to slowly poison both humans and pets, causing cancer and other ailments as they age.
There are safer ingredients that can be used instead of CARRAGEENAN so food companies do not have to use it. If consumers become aware of the dangers of feeding CARRAGEENAN and stop buying products that contain it, pet companies will respond.
I wish someone had made me aware before my cat developed tumors and cancer from this ingredient.

This one was missing a can of food, so 29 instead of 30. I will still keep ordering unless it happens to much.

The bottom line is, while I do love my cat, I am not spending $2 or $3 on cat food every day. I went through a few different brands some more expensive some less than the Fancy Feast, to find one at this price point that he liked and did not throw up....which he did a lot until I found one that worked for him. It's not just about the brand but also the type e.g. pate, grilled, etc. and flavor, e.g. meat, chicken, fish, etc. After months of trial and error, even having to throw cans away, the Fancy Feast Pate, mainly fish based, seems to be the sweet spot....and it's somewhat reasonably priced. It is a mid-tier cat food in my opinion and I say that because he still throws one up about once a month and I attribute that to the quality of the food....possibly a bad can in the batch from poor QC or some other processing issues, which I suspect, are more common with less expensive pet foods. For the most part though he does well on it. My cat is a big boy so I also mix in some dry food too help keep the cost down a bit.
In the end the Fancy Feast seems to work well for him and it's a decent value. I can recommend trying it, but also suggest trying others if your cat does not keep it down.
As you can tell, they love it! The portion is just right to finish in one feeding. No left overs.

My only wish is that Amazon would ship it in an additional box! Throwing this flimsy box into a plastic bag means nearly half of the 30 aluminum cans of food were dented and one was actually punctured! Not good! Would have been 5 stars if not for the lack of decent packaging!
Some cans have a little more sauce, but since I add liquid that's not a big deal.
I am not a fan of cat food smells so if it makes them happy, I just deal with it! 😸
I have never had a problem until my last delivery yesterday.
The case inside the shipping box was damaged and had been retaped. A can was missing and there was dried moldy cat food stuck inside the box. Some of the cans were badly dented and had to be thrown away. Damaged did not occur during delivery, it was shipped out from facility this way
I will continue to order of course but would like to see quality control step up and examine the product before shipping.

The problem is, who ever is packing the boxes is not doing a good job. Damaged cans have happened more than once. If the outer box and case is damage I always check every can carefully. If the case looks ok I have not opened and stack it with many other cases in good condition. I use over 200 cans a month for community cats. I should not have to inspect every can, but maybe now I may have to. This case was under other 3 other cases and behind others. If I didn't see bugs I wouldn't have been concerned. Bottom line,if the case is damaged don't let the seller tell you there are no refunds, go directly to an Amazon representative.
Hopefully soon this cat food "shortage" will be over and Costco will get stocked back up with the 60 case, but until then I will have to order here. Just make sure that you order before you're out of canned food because two weeks (it even came a week earlier than the 3 weeks I was told in the beginning) is a long time to wait when you need canned cat food. I bought mine case for $26
I have to say, I most enjoy the salmon flavor. However, every time I hear that can pop, I scream at him until he gives me my fix. Sometimes I run into the kitchen and yell at him a lot when I am having withdrawal, sometimes I get a bonus serving. He said that he was glad to have found this on Amazon for the price, stating it would have been hard to carry on his motorcycle.
I would recommend this as all the flavors are great in my belly, but I guess I could see some cats not liking it. If they won't eat it, leave it on the porch and I will.
Original review: I believe the manufacturer of this brand puts all their damaged, non shelf worthy, cans into these perfectly intact boxes, so they can get rid of them. Very deceptive. I would say that a good 2/3 of the box is heavily dented. Some damaged to the point they are compromised and very smelly... This is consistent in every box I get, even those I've gotten elsewhere. I think I will end up changing brands because I don't know how great of a bulk deal it is if I have a handful of unusable cans in each box. It's a shame. This is not a seller issue, this is a manufacture issue.
