We recommend at least a 7-day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.
Two weeks in her skin is looking great plus she loves ❤️ loves her food! Her sisters and brother are equally happy for the change in diet.
I'm purchasing the 2nd bag before the end of the month which is earlier than I anticipated I'm not worried though since Ive got 4 gals and 1 boy to feed (have a new foster as of last Monday!)
All is well at the Brown home and my kitties are happy and full returned to their original diet of Royal Canin the Only Food a Cat Should Eat!!
It did improve the odor of their waste, but I found the product to be quite costly.
I tried so many different food brands and this one seems to be the best ones.
My cat would eat any brand usually ,but I was very concerned about the ingredients in another brands .I read a lot and this one brand seems to be the best one with natural ingredients. My baby doesn’t complain .
It’s not cheap but I think it’s worth it so far !
Just too expensive in this hard economy.
Product itself is very high quality. I’ve fed my crew this food for over twelve years. I have both long haired and short haired cats and they all have lovely coats.
So this is the only dry food he would eat....my cat love is and approve it
This one was the food a friends cat was eating, when we were watching her, at our house. My friend left it here, on accident, so we had a big bag of it AND my cat kept trying to get to it, when my friends cat was here.
Her litter box has almost no smell, anymore… although we also switched to “sustainably yours” cat litter. Which is also amazing!
She throws up less often! She was getting sick more often than I liked… she’s been eating this since December 5th, it’s been a month, and she’s thrown up once… or she’s getting stealth 😆
Her coat is silky and shiny and smooth! It really does feel like she’s softer!
I appreciate that she really wants and likes the food and that she’s more comfortable, overall.
The scent of the Long hair indoor is way better, this does not smell as appetizing
If we get another cat it will be fed ROYAL CANIN
Highly recommended!
Cat eats it fine but she's more of a goat than a cat in that department.
I know it's silly, but I like the bag it comes in. It's thick and doesn't let out a lot of smell and it has a zipper top.
I'm sure it's fine but it wasn't what I was shooting for so I can't say much to it's effectiveness and it's a bit pricey to have accidentally bought it and not have it *do* anything.
Some reviewers have commented that this isn’t the real formula?? I haven’t found that to be true and cannot imagine faking high end cat food is an actual thing.
Loses a star because the bags don't reclose properly. The reseal zipper comes unglued from the bag.
We also have a 2 year old cat that also eats the same food. He LOVES it, too. A win all around.
The first time I got a bag of the Royal Canin it was recommended by the Vet for my elderly cat who has now passed on. All the cats liked it but it was hard for me to afford at the time so I switched back to whatever I was getting at Target at the time.
Then a few months ago I got a free bag of food at Petco so went with another small bag of the RC and let me tell you - I mixed it 1/2 and 1/2 with the other food since it was a smaller bag and my cats picked out the Royal Canin to eat and dropped the other food on the floor all around the bowl! At first I thought they were just being messy and every day I was picking up about a cup full of food off the floor, then I realized it was ONLY the (I think) purina which was mixed with the RC. Now that I am only feeding the Royal Canin there is no more mess around the food bowls! They are healthy and puking less as well.
I tried a couple different expensive brands (Orijin and blue buffalo I think it was - they were in the 30-40.00 a bag range) - BAM! Kitty says NO.
Finally after a couple of days, she ate juuuust enough of the Origin to be a victim, yet postpone starvation. After we exhausted the 40.00 bag, I came home with the 32.00 bag of Royal Canin. WOW. I am "warned" each time the bowl is empty, so that bowl is filled every morning!
Hazel's (aka Puff Puff Kitty/P-Kitty) litter box is in a contained area in the garage, accessible by a cat door so there's no smell in the house - however, when I dump the box, there is near zero odor. I use the Arm & Hammer litter, nothing outrageous - the kibble is THE difference. Tiny poop, next to no smell. The earlier two bags of cat food were not so kind to the nose... As long as they this kibble, P-Kitty's bowl will be full!
The difference was noticible when a roommate moved in. He had two older overweight cats eating meow mix. Their fur was scruffy and I was stepping in vomit and hair balls daily. The vomit was undigested piles of reddish meow mix food. After switching them to this food no more vomit and or hair balls, their fur is soft and "purty". And even better yet their weight has become much healthier. We feed free choice and not one of the cats is overweight even these two.
We also feed as a treat one 5.5 to 6 oz can of food a night for all five of them to share as a treat. We use Weruva, Wellness, Halo and occasionally other varieties.
I also would like to mention I fed my sixteen year old cat the Royal Canin kidney diet for cats after trying other brands this was the only one he would eat. Between feeding Royal Canin dry, Wellness wet and supplementing with Azodyl he lived to the ripe old age of 19.
It was after seeing my other (then senior) cats prefer the prescription kidney diet over their regular diet that convinced me to completely switch to Royal Canin permantately.
As of right now my roommates cats are approximately 16 years old with no signs of kidney disease and my three guys are 2 years old and vibrant and healthy. I just love petting and snuggling up to their soft silky coats. And I plan on doing so for many more years to come thanks to a healthy diet
How long do cats live anyway ?
Edit 10/302015
However, the price just went up outrageously, for some stupid reason so, I am not going to be buying this from Amazon any more. WTH, so so so lame.
Kittens about 3 years ago and my choice of Royal Canin products from Baby Cat 3 ounce cans, kitten incentive, adult incentive and the adult 27 dry food these wonderful cats are thriving, doing well and weigh between 16 and 21 pounds! I realize this is a pricey cat food but the nutritional value is excellent and I also realize Royal Canin does not promote any coupons or special prices for the consumer probably because they realize their product is the best out there, maybe one day they will get a more pro active market director, but the products are beyond excellent and I will always shop thru Amazon for the prices, thank you Jeff Bezos for the prices!!!!!
I must say, Carlin (my cat) absolutely loves this food. He is always running to his bowl whenever I fill it. The veterinarian recommended this food because of its high palatability, meaning that it tastes good, and cats generally will enjoy it. And from experience, this is definitely the case.
The one downside on this food, for some people, is that you generally won't find it in a grocery store (rather, you have to find it at a Pet store), but that's okay because we all know we would get the best deal on Amazon anyway, right?
The cost is a little bit higher on this food, but it's definitely worth the price if you have a picky eater like my cat. Carlin has been enjoying Royal Canin 27 for the better part of 6 months now, and no problems or concerns as of yet!
Cat food manufacturers are now selling food that is made specifically for Persians. This food is flatter & almond shaped and has a texture that is easier for Persians to eat.

Royal Canin is one of these manufacturers. I'm grateful!
It has made all the difference in her eating habits now. What a difference. Amazon is the only place I have found it for the least amount of money. Charli
