We bought other brands sensitive skin dog food (several, incl. expensive ones) that alone did not work. We bought additional vitamin and supplement treats. During peak times we used a spray on itchy spots.After reading somewhere (sorry, don't recall anymore) that this was a good formula for a medium/large dog similar to ours, we switched to strictly this food for a while to see the effect. Unbelievably, it really did the trick. No additional supplements needed, no spray for itchy spots, nothing!It now has been a year, so we passed every season with any allergens or dry/wet weather and the result is the same. Therefore, I feel now confident to review the product after long-term use.Nothing is guaranteed but you might want to give it a try for a few weeks to decide for yourself. If it works like for us, you might not believe it in the beginning. Such a relieve!

I was really worried after reading some other reviews that mention finding worms, fungus, or other fun stuff in their bags. So when I recieved mine I made sure to scoop through it just to be safe. I didn't have any issues with my bag or the kibble. It's kibble, but it seemed fresh and wasn't crumbly. It does have a strong fish smell, but that's expected with a salmon based kibble. The actual bag is a bit thin, so I could see why it would rip during transit, but I didn't have this problem.My dog (lab mix) is a super picky eater and started to refuse to eat his kibble more and more regularly causing him to vomit up stomach bile. We decided to try the Pro Plan for Sensitive Stomachs (salmon). After switching, my dog has finished every meal in minutes and no more vomiting! It's a huge relief! We're considering switching our Amstaff to it as well once we talk to our vet!

But, I went into my subscription to change/extend my next delivery date, and it sent me ANOTHER huge 40 lb. bag the day after I just received one. Ugh! That's a LOT of dog food. - and a lot of money. And, there is no UPS return center nearby for me to lug 40 lbs of dog food for a return. SMH I've cancelled my subscription to stop this foolishness and will order on my own when I need it.

Aside from being highly recommended by my vets, I'm a big fan of Purina Pro Plan. My dog loves this but for some reason, she became "gassy" using this particular bag of sensitive skin and stomach. She never had this issue before and nothing else has changed as far as her diet goes. I purchased a bag of Purina Pro Plan with probiotics blend, mixed it in with the sensitive skin/stomach bag and the flatulence subsided. Maybe something in the formula changed in this unexpired bag.

I'm not a huge fan of Purina dog food, just because of an ingredient issue. I prefer to stick with the smaller, family owned food companies. One of my pups, however, has a different idea! The food is quite expensive, not nearly as some, but it keeps her allergies at bay. Now, she is still on allergy meds and has chronic ear infections. As long as I give her this food and one treat I've found that doesn't break her out, we're good. I have found no other that doesn't make her ears bleed and crust when she eats it....so I guess she wins! She'll be 10 this December and sweet as pie!

My lab has allergies and her ears build up gunk and fluid; we assumed it was solely from the pollen and stuff outside. We changed her from Chicken flavored Pro Plan and within a week, her ears were barely gunky and they no longer smell when she shakes her head. Her skin is less flaky as well.
It didn't resolve her allergies completely, but it made a HUGE difference.

My dogs LOVE the flavor, they think its crack, so yummy. One of my dogs has a chicken allergy, and when we switched her to this her skin issues have cleared up. My other dog usually gets a uti when we switch foods even when we transition her slowly. But when switching to this food, she had no issue. Wish it was less expensive, but its worth the cost for heathly dogs

We recommend that you keep your dog in ideal body condition and not allow your dog to become overweight. The exact amount of food your dog requires will need to be adjusted according to age, activity and environment. But a good place to start is with these guidelines for an average, active, adult dog fed once daily. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily.

Transition Instructions

Please allow 7-10 days to ease the transition from your dog’s current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you’re feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.
