The recommended feeding amounts indicated are based upon the average nutritional needs of an adult dog with normal activity. Factors, such as a dog’s metabolism, breed size, activity level, age and whether the dog is spayed or neutered, will affect the amount of Purina ONE needed to maintain an ideal body condition. If you find that your dog is losing weight or becomes overweight when fed these amounts, please adjust accordingly. To help your dog maintain an ideal body condition, monitor your dog’s weight on a regular basis, making sure that his ribs are easily felt and the waist is visible when viewed from above.
Puppies: Start puppies on moistened Purina ONE as early as they will nibble at solid foods, generally 3-4 weeks of age. Feed pups (to six months of age) all of the moistened or dry Purina ONE they will consume at intervals throughout the day. If water is added, use no more than one part warm (not hot) liquid to four parts Purina ONE, changing frequently to ensure freshness. If fed dry, this formula may be kept before pups at all times.
Reproduction: Purina ONE provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. Food consumption may vary during gestation, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female’s good body condition. Food intake may double or even quadruple during lactation.
Transition Instructions
Please allow 7 – 10 days to ease the transition from his current food and a little more Purina ONE until you’re feeding Purina ONE exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.

we have tried many many ( and may I say grain free) foods Everything from bison to fish by top names ( blue, taste of the wild, orijen and so on).. just constant diarrhea! .. so about a year or two ago when the new studies showed that dogs developed heat disease and started to get sick on the grain free that pushed us to go back to grain and something less artsy fartsy food. To add our Fila developed severe reaction ( vomiting and upset stomach. Keep in mind he is a full grown, mans size dog, hint hint) lol
Vet recommended to go to lamb and rice.. and I kid you not he is back to normal.
Now this worked for us.. I am not saying every dog will love this.. but I honestly never had a problem. Not with intake nor with “out come “ 💩 lol.
This food works wonders. Purina ONE SmartBlend has been amazing in getting my boy to eat regularly and is a great value. We buy it every time.
This particular mix did not agree with my older yellow lab. I still have a huge bag which I will donate
to the animal shelter. Sticking with chicken & rice!
My dog loves it, although I do add grain free to her diet too.
My only complaint would be about the shipping, which is not the fault of the seller of course. The box the bag comes in was literally pushed all the way up my driveway and arrived half opened already :/
There’s no need for me to ever try another dog food. My small dogs also benefit from this in the same ways. I’m not sure what I’d do if the stopped making this.
